Job description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Engineering Research & Development team. The intern will support the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and consumer access control products such as garage door openers, gate operators, and wireless control systems.

This internship provides hands-on experience in mechanical design, product development, and engineering analysis while working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment..

Key Responsibilities

Assist in designing and modifying mechanical components and assemblies.
Create 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software (Creo or equivalent).
Support prototype development and product testing activities.
Perform basic engineering calculations related to stress, strain, and material selection.
Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and product demonstrations.
Assist in troubleshooting and basic failure analysis.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
Maintain documentation according to engineering standards.
Follow workplace health and safety policies.

Minimum Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Basic understanding of mechanical design principles.
Familiarity with materials, statics, and dynamics concepts.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with 3D CAD software (Creo, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD).
Basic knowledge of plastic injection molding or sheet metal design.
Understanding of manufacturing processes.
Proficiency in MS Office applications.
